# Exotic and supercar storage

Low noses, wide doors and batteries that drain in weeks. An exotic needs heated indoor space, a low-angle flatbed and a battery plan that suits the car. Send the make and model and we find storage built for it.

## What to check for an exotic

- Battery maintainer: Many exotics have specific maintainers or a dealer-approved one. Ask for a spot with power and bring yours.
- Ramps and clearance: Steep ramps and speed bumps catch splitters. Ask about the approach, or use a low-angle flatbed.
- Space around the car: Wide doors need room to open. Ask how close cars are parked.
- Who handles it: Ask who moves the car and whether keys are kept in a locked box.
- Insurance terms: Check what your policy asks of a storage facility.

## Exotic car questions

**Can I store an exotic in a regular storage unit?**

Some owners do, in a 10 x 20 unit with no power. The battery is the problem. Ask for a unit with an outlet, or take a maintainer that runs on its own battery.

**What about a car that is still under warranty?**

Follow the maker’s storage instructions in the owner’s manual. Some warranties have battery conditions.
